April
Tues 4th, Thurs 6th, Thurs 20th, Tues 25th and Thurs 27th – Gwithian Towans, 10am-2pm
Continuing to collect and burn the privet etc which was recently cut. Meet at the two small car parks just in from the main road bend.
Wed 5th – Gwithian Green, 10am-2pm
Mostly barrowing and laying gravel to improve two soggy sections of path; also some other spring jobs, eg stream clearing and raking. Meet in the main car park on the right, just north of the church.
Fri 21st – Birdwatch Walk, 8am-1pm
The first of two walks from Gwithian Green, up around Godrevy Head and the Warren, trying to hear and/or see our usual half-century+ of birds!
Wed 26th – Dunes Recording Group, 10am-3pm
Introduction to botany, Penhale Dunes. Starting indoors at Perranzabuloe Parish Council Offices, before heading out to the dunes near Perranporth after lunch. Book with Andy Nelson.
May
Tues 2nd – Walk Around Loe Pool, 7am-2pm
Looking at spring migrants, learning bird song etc. We normally record about eight warbler species as well as a range of other birds, flowers and insects. Meet at Helston fairground by Flora Motors and the boating lake.
Wed 3rd – Birdwatch Walk, 8am-1pm

Thurs 4th and Tues 9th – Godrevy Warren, 10am-2pm
More cuttings to clear and sand to expose, halfway along the slope between the NT car park and the SE corner gateway, so park at either and walk in.
Wed 10th – Dunes Recording Group, 10am-3pm
Plant quadrat surveys, location to be confirmed. This is part of our efforts to record habitat and species information at various locations in the dunes, to provide long-term monitoring of the vegetation. Book with Andy Nelson.
Thurs 11th, Tues 16th and Thurs 18th – Godrevy Warren, 10am-2pm
Reducing the amount of ragwort in areas we cleared last year. Meet in SE corner gateway.
Wed 24th – Dunes Recording Group,10am-3pm Martin Rule, Towans Ranger
Insect identification at Gwithian. Starting indoors at Gwithian Chapel, before heading out to the dunes near Gwithian after lunch. Book with Andy Nelson.
